The study of ethics, generally, tries to give an account that makes sense of the elementary thing we think and do, offers guidance on practical decisions, and answers to the special needs of its moment in history. Ethics, in Christian thinking, also tries for such an account but one that does justice to the teachings of biblical Christianity and to the life of biblical Christian communities. Christian ethics is a healthy and holistic study of an understanding of the moral attributes of God, the relation between God and human morality, and most importantly, a critical reflective account of the content of human morality as lived, or aspired to, by Christians. It is a more systematic study of the Christian faith and its application to daily life. This study explores the concept and development of Christian Ethics as a field of scientific inquiry for African Christianity.
