While investigating a string of disappearances, a reporter runs afoul of a black-market dealer in "minis" - humans who have been shrunken to doll size and sold as exotic pets. Upon finding herself thrown into a hamster cage, she meets a fellow mini named Brittany, who's been a pet for a long time. With little else to do to pass the time, Brittany begins to detail the things that she's been through over the past year, including her humiliating training to be a pet and her life with her new owner.

"Quiet!" Brittany snapped. "He's coming back, and he'll punish us if we're talking!"
Melissa fell silent. Sure enough, she could hear the giant man's boots thumping on the floor nearby, and seconds later, he came into view from around a corner. He was carrying a small pouch and a clipboard.
"Time for your inspection, little lady," 'Bill' said, grinning nastily through the bars at Melissa. His grin widened as she backed toward the far wall of the cage. He set the clipboard on the shelf next to her cage, opened the latch at the top, and reached inside, having no trouble grabbing her and scooping her out. She screamed, cried, and flailed, but it did no good; she was far too small to do anything to resist. He moved her over to the clipboard and pressed her flat against it with one hand. With the other, he took a tape dispenser from the pouch and tore off a piece. Ignoring her protests, he stretched her arm out to the side and taped it against the board, then did the same to her other arm and each leg, leaving her spread-eagled on the board.
When he was finished, she tried to struggle, only to find she was too weak to move even one piece of tape. He reached into the pouch again and took out a pair of tweezers and a wickedly sharp penknife that looked terrifyingly large to her. With the tweezers, he pinched her left shoe and pulled it off of her foot, returning for the sock. Her stomach turned as she realized where this was going, but her cries only seemed to amuse him. Her other shoe and sock were soon gone. Next, he sliced through her shirt and shorts with the knife, bringing the deadly blade unnervingly close to her skin before it lifted the garments up and split them. When the incisions were finished, he again used the tweezers to take away the ruined clothes. Melissa was left with only her bra and panties, and she nearly had a panic attack when she pictured the knife trying to get them without cutting her. He didn't do that, however, instead simply gripping the flimsy undergarments with the tweezers and tugging on them until they broke. It was painful and left red welts on her skin, but she felt relief that the giant blade hadn't come anywhere near her again.
He put the tweezers away and produced a magnifying glass. He proceeded to scrutinize every inch of Melissa's body while she lay there, helpless and exposed. He leered perversely at her the entire time, making obscene comments about her. He finally pulled up the tape, but her humiliation wasn't over--instead, he turned her over and pressed her flat on her belly, holding her down with his hand as he inspected her yet again. He forced her legs apart and whistled as he stared, his hot breath blowing across her bare ass. She gritted her teeth and tried to keep herself from crying.
Shortly, she was scooped up and unceremoniously dropped into the cage, the litter scratching against her bare skin as she shivered, trying to forget the feeling of his clammy skin against her body and wiping herself in an effort to get his sweat off of her.
