Darren is a business consultant in his early forties. He is married but suspects his wife is cheating. Marcia works as an accountant for an investment company. She also is married; however her husband has been developing abusive tendencies. Together Darren and Marcia must travel to Kansas City to evaluate an accounting system Marcia's firm is considering buying. While there, they discover chemistry exists between them and have a torrid affair. Nonetheless, neither is eager to end their marriage.
