THE CHEQUERED FLAG: THE GREATEST RACE – THE RACE OF LIFE
Craig is presently “working” on his latest book titled 'The (My) Greatest Race…or perhaps “it’s just writing itself.”??? !!!
(Started 9th Nov 2011)
The pursuit, the race" for a better and more peaceful world
“Have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become.”
Key words: peace, inspiration, belief, power, empowerment
"The greatest mountain we need to climb lies in our our own minds". It's not the highest mountain that we conquer, but ourselves, our own mentality. Overcoming perceived limits to reach (attain) the pinnacle of our own minds."
- craig (as inspired by the words of Sir Edmund Hillary, conquerer of Mount Everest (1919-2008)
"The untapped potential in every human being is limitless: we are perfectly capable of producing, all by ourselves, true magic."
- powerful words from Clyde Brolin writing in his great book ‘Overdrive; Formula One in the Zone’
“It is from numberless diverse acts of courage and belief that human history is shaped. Each time a man stands up for an ideal, or acts to improve the lot of others, or strikes out against injustice, he sends forth a tiny ripple of hope, and crossing each other from a million different centers of energy and daring, those ripples build a current that can sweep down the mightiest walls of oppression and resistance."
Robert Francis Kennedy quotes ( U.S. attorney general and adviser, 1925-1968)

PROLOGUE
THE GRAND PRIX CHAMPION
The Grand Prix driver crossed the finishing line beneath the colourful banner stretching across the width of the oil and rubber smeared tarmac below to win the Monaco Grand Prix in the year that was 2009. Exhausted (both mentally and physically) and saturated with sweat, the champion driver raised his arms, in celebration, glorious triumph, knowing that he had driven his last.. and the best ever race in his long and illustrious career. As the great champion of the world drove under the banner proclaiming Sport for Peace and received the chequered flag to the silent roars of the crowd, he also knew that a new chapter in his rather eventful life, yet also his greatest challenge lay in the days ahead.
"Life is what happens in between making other plans."
- John Lennon
"Let each one of us build bridges rather than barriers, openness rather than walls. Let us look at distant horizons together in a spirit of acceptance, helpfulness, co-operation and peace. Let our leaders look at the future with a vision to see things not as they are, but what they could one day become."
Let us build bridges rather than barriers, openness rather than walls. Rather than borders, let us look at distant horizons together...in the common spirit of the value and dignity of a shared personhood - our common humanity as citizens of planet earth. Let each ONE of us strive to build a bridge ..or perhaps many bridges of reconciliation."
- craig
"Ayrton, we cannot, we are not privileged to see you display your marvellous skills any longer, but you have reached, and are now standing on the highest podium there is."
“When (or perhaps if ever) you arrive in heaven, let faith and love be the wings that carried you there.”
- as adapted from the inspiring words of Jonathan Edwards, former minister in New England, Massachusetts
“The Greatest Race: Living by (with) faith, hope and love is the highest podium any person can reach, God’s podium that anyone stand on.”
- craig
“I write about the resilience of humanity and share stories of the triumph of the human spirit."
Having pursued the goals, the dreams set before us and run the race with persistence and endurance, after giving it all. Then one day standing on the summit of life, breathing in the pure sweet oxygen of achievement, totally satisfied in running the greatest race, the race of life one that ANYONE can run and win.
craig 11/11
“Together, one mind, one life (one small step at a time), let’s see how many people (and lives) we can encourage, impact, empower, enrich, uplift and perhaps even inspire to reach their fullest potentials…and strive for and perhaps one sunny day even achieve their wildest dreams.”
"Driven to uplift, encourage and (perhaps even) inspire"
