The Chinese woman, using the cover name Lei Mei, is an Intelligence Officer assigned to Chinese State Security, Second Bureau. She accepts an assignment to go to Seattle to locate and abduct the Triad killer, Wu Xing, and return him to China to stand trial. Lei Mei has a personal reason for accepting this assignment and vows only death will prevent her from completing this mission. She is able to locate the killer, but before formulating a plan to abduct him, she is reassigned to the Island of Barbados. An American General, using a phony passport is travelling to the Island of Barbados for a clandestine meeting. While conducting surveillance, Li Mei encounters FBI agent, Sean McNamara, who she had met briefly in Seattle while Li Mei was posing as a PhD student at the University of Washington. They team up and discover a conspiracy designed to bring the world to the brink of war, and beyond. Before they can discover the identity of the conspirators, assassins arrive on the island targeting Lei Mei and the FBI team. Neither of them realize that there is a third player in the middle of this conspiracy, and things quickly get out of hand. This is the First Book in the Li Mei Spy-Action-Thriller series.
