John Forbes (1568-1634) was a Scottish Minister and fiery reformed preacher who desired to see the church reformed for the glory of God. Mr. Forbes will show you that the house of God should be ordered by God’s rules, and that God’s "people" are to be ordered by God’s rules. He demonstrates from 1 Tim. 6:13-16 that it is impossible to worship God by human invention, impossible to worship God by human ingenuity, and impossible to worship God in an atmosphere that has not been structured and ordered by God and His word. The Regulative Principle expresses clearly that God alone determines the manner sinners are to approach him in worship. Such a doctrine should never be dismissed simply because our contemporary culture is more captivated by being entertained rather than instructed by God’s truth. This work is not a scan or facsimile, has been carefully transcribed by hand being made easy to read in modern English, and has an active table of contents for electronic versions.
