Cathy left her country to go and marry her online fiancé, Goiboni, in Africa. But for some reason, Goiboni is not able to meet her at the airport. Instead he sends his younger sister to go and meet her at his home town. When she finally arrives home, her fiancé is also not there. So she spends the night in Goiboni’s house alone with chicken, goats and sheep. The following day she goes to the tourist hotel where Goiboni’s sister says her brother is supposed to be working. When she gets there, she discovers that he is held their as a prisoner working almost for free to compensate for his mother’s medical bill owed to the hotel clinic. It would take him 8 years of work at the hotel to compensate for the bill. He wants Cathy to go back to America and wait for the day he will be free. But Cathy is not ready to go back and wait for 8 years before she marries her man. She soon learns that the hotel is exploiting the local community and therefore, instead of returning to America, she decides to marry her fiancés’ boss with an intention of instigating a rebellion or manipulating him to change the hotel’s policy of soliciting for free drugs and selling them to the local community in which case those who are unable to pay are taken captive by the hotel where they work with very little or no pay at all. However, after marrying her fiancé's boss, her emotions come to the fore to water down her plans. Naturally, Goiboni is not happy with the move she has taken. But while Cathy finds herself unable to go on with her plans, her action reawakens another side of Goiboni she had not known, for Goiboni resolves to risk everything to get her back for himself.
