In February 2007, the Cliffs of Moher Visitor Experience opened to the public: An award-winning, eco-friendly underground building that houses restaurants, gift shop, tourist information, a first aid room and an exciting new exhibition, entitled Atlantic Edge. The new facilities include a craftworkers street of six shops, picnic areas and restoration work at O’Brien’s Tower. In addition to the new Visitor Centre, improvements and extension have been made to the cliff edge pathways, steps and the viewing area. A new visitor management programme was also introduced that involves Cliffs of Moher Rangers who offer the public information on the cliffs, guided tours and conservation measures. The work begun in the nineteenth century by Cornelius O’Brien to welcome visitors from near and far to the Cliffs of Moher continues in this state-of-the-art development. Katherine Webster | Cliffs of Moher Visitor Experience
