A collection of strange, spherical objects is found buried in a hedgerow in Little Markhampton. The objects then disappear before visiting archaeologists can claim them.
Meanwhile, a group of travelling dragons return to the area searching for their eggs, which are now due to hatch. To their horror, the eggs are gone!
The young people of Little Markhampton are enlisted to help the dragons to recover the eggs from around the village.
