After a minor flooding and house fire, caused by her forgetful father, a clasping, grasping daughter, puts her aging mother Hannah into a Nursing Home., supposedly for respite. Then lives with her father, Leonard, supposedly to help him to look after the old family home. Who officially no longer has a driving license. His daughter Karen suspects he has dementia He visits his wife twice each day. Hannah suffers a serious heart condition, which she withholds from her beloved husband of over 60 years.
Karen, the daughter is driving her father nuts, interfering in his daily routine, having garage sales and house repairs and employing painters. He can't find anything. He tends to live in the past, bringing back many fond memories. One night he returns home from visiting his dear wife and is confronted by a punk rock party in full swing. Len has had enough. He returns to the Nursing Home and breaks in through the kitchen window, and convinces his wife to do what they did back in 1939.
They Elope again.
He leaves his overcoat hooked over a kitchen tap, with credit card & wallet and Hannah’s medications are left behind also.
Len persuades the local pharmacist to provide fresh tablets for their trip.
Len has booked into a country motel, only to find their Manager friends have now moved on. The delinquent couple also move on, without paying their motel account.
Soon they are forced into hijacking a tank of petrol, taking off doing wheelies in Lens old pride and joy. They arrive at their old friends Ben and Lily's place for the evening meal and stay a couple of days.
The police are soon on their case, having received reports from Mark the pharmacist, the Nursing Home Manager and the missing couples daughter, Karen. What next?
After a couple of days, with Ben and Lily, all is discovered. Next morning Len & Hannah are supposed to be heading home with $300 from their dear friends to help them on their way. Does Len head for home as promised, or , now more confused than ever, have other plans? And to make things worse, Hannah has left her medication at their friends place.
And who is the old Digger, they have just given a lift to. What is he up to? Has he got a beady, greedy eye on the money?
Will the police find and arrest the couple? Will their clasping daughter, separate them again?
