Elise has come to accept and enjoy her position as James Goran's pet. However, his ex has made it clear she wishes to be the queen of his castle and she views Elise as little more than an annoyance in her path. How can Elise argue with that when she has nothing to show that James feels differently? But a sudden surprise makes Elise realize that she needs to stand for herself, her future, and make James see her as more than a pet, but as a woman.
EXCERPT:
I hid my hurt and shuffled back to the dressing room with the blue dress. The red dress collapsed at my feet as I studied myself in the mirror. I was pretty, but not glamorous or gorgeous like Morgan. My breasts were average, and my hips, while slim, just didn’t scream sex kitten. I moved with all the grace of a water buffalo. I picked up the peacock blue dress and sighed as I slipped it over my head. The jeweled tones of blue and green floated down over my body. A satin band wrapped around my chest and from their layer upon elegant layer of tulle and chiffon floated down to the floor. Instead of fire, I was a deep pool of water.
“Much better,” a warm voice of approval startled me from behind. Looking in the mirror, I saw James eying the dress closely. He came in, the door to the dressing room swinging closed behind him. “Now to see if it suits what I have in mind.”
“W-what? Here?” I watched he reflection with some incredulity as his warm, firm body pressed close against mine. His hands dropped down to my thighs, hiking the skirt up inch by inch, baring my pale, smooth skin.
