My name is Ruby Kennedy; I was seventeen - years old when I was killed by a vampire. Here is my story:

I live in Mammoth Lakes, California; it was December and I was so happy about Christmas. I was on winter break from school and I tried to snowboard as much as I could with my friends Alain and Laura.

I put my boots on along with my winter coat, hat, ear muffs and gloves. My snowboard was outside the house. Suddenly, I thought I heard someone walking behind me. “Alain is that you?” I asked when I spotted someone walking towards me.

It wasn't Alain. “Hello there, you look like you need help carrying some stuff,” The stranger said with a smile on his face. I have never seen this boy before he looked about my age, 5’11”, slim, short platinum blond hair and black eyes; he was wearing a brown t-shirt with the words ‘blood is thicker than water’ all in red color, weird.

Wait a minute it’s something weirder than that; he wasn't wearing winter clothes, no jacket, scarf, gloves, hat, or boots?

“My name is Lucas,” he said. His deep voice made me feel uncomfortable. “I saw you struggling and decided to come and help you if that’s okay with you.”

“Why aren't you wearing any warm clothes?” I asked staring at his outfit.

“I am not wearing any warm clothes because I don’t get cold,” he answered while walking behind my back. He got closer to me and started taking my jacket off. I dropped my snowboard and ran as fast as I could, but my boots were too heavy.

“It is okay to run your blood will be warmer when I drink it!”
