This small manual will increase your understanding, interest and enjoyment of the world’s oldest Self-help books, Scriptures and sacred writings. Misinformation and misinterpretation have caused many people to disregard these writings as fables with no value. These are too often seen as presenting unattainable qualities, as being too demanding and without meaning to the lives we are forced to live in today’s society. There are also those who believe with ‘blind faith’ that everything presented in Scripture is fact, that the events actually happened in an ancient time when ‘miracles’ were possible. Both of these viewpoints are misguided. Mystics, who mostly composed these scriptures, were actually reporting their personal experiences of inner probes into their psyches. Whether accidental or sought these inner experiences have affected and inspired billions of people: some positively, some not. These men and women realized that certain characteristics of the subconscious mind would bring understanding and wisdom to the lives of all people. The subconscious mind has the capacity to greatly affect attitudes and behaviour. These early ‘scientists of wholeness’, operated with a time honoured principle and process that garners positive results. This same principle and process gives validity to the work of psychologists and psychiatrists. These mystic reporters were the pioneers of working on Self to improve relationships, self-esteem and to positively affect your immediate environment. The laboratory used by a mystic is his or her self. The tools used are the tenets of Holy Science, a ‘Knowledge’ which helps to bridle the constantly interrupting conscious mind. ‘Knowledge’ of Holy Science allows one to tune into the source of wisdom and happiness, the Infinite Intelligence, found within the subconscious mind.
The intention of Scripture is to show how to enhance the quality of life: to spark an interest and show the possibilities. Sacred writings with the most impact are the accounts of those who achieved acute clarity and wisdom by exploring the ‘inner world’ of their consciousness. These Holy Scientists discovered how to add meaning to their daily affairs. Most important they provided the ‘keys’ with which you too could achieve the same feelings and qualities. Spirituality is about what you gain, not about changing or giving up things. It is not about changing yourself to please another power, ideal or person. Enjoy every moment of life. ‘Milk’ the precious moments by opening yourself to the valuable lessons learned from mystical experiences. Use the tools offered for ‘inner exploration.’ When used with faith, this ‘Knowledge’ will have a wonderful and positive affect on your life.
