During the brutal and dark days of Apartheid in the 1960s Aaron Finnegan a white teenager from a relatively wealthy upper middle class Boksburg family was stunned to learn from his sister Hillary and her best friend Gillian that none of the fundamental questions of philosophy had ever been solved. He was also astonished to learn that no one had been able provide a compelling and unassailable explication to everybody’s satisfaction of the true and actual nature of reality. As a consequence of this dramatic disclosure by Gillian and his sister he became obsessed with the problems of philosophy. In his search for answers he also became acquainted with the writings of Plato. After reading the Platonic dialogues it came as an unexpected surprise to Aaron to learn that Eros and the erotic desire provoked by beauty were actually the keys to unravelling the puzzle, the riddle and the enigma of the nature and meaning of the Universe.
On one sweltering afternoon his philosophical quest took an expected life changing turn. On that afternoon by pure accident he met Geraldine McNamara, an extremely attractive black teenage girl, in the nearby Indian Shanty Town called Kalamazoo under the most unusual circumstances. No one could figure out whether she was Indian, Coloured or African. She called herself a human chameleon. Coming from a Coloured family of keen ballroom dancers she had with practice become a highly talented exponent of the Tango. After several more strange encounters, a relation began to develop between them. They become secretly romantically attached and started to meet clandestinely at a regular nocturnal rendezvous where she taught him the Tango. His philosophical journey intersects with a surprising metaphysical exploration into the essence of the Argentinean Tango. He discovers that the Tango and the Milonga contains clues to the meaning of life and the nature of the Universe. Together they embarked on an eventful and epic erotic journey, a journey with many unexpected twists and turns, in the search for the ultimate meaning of the Universe. The journey eventually ends at the doors of the Barracuda Night Club where in a mind blowing encounter the meaning of everything is revealed.
What is a Milonga? What is the Tango? What did Plato say about Eros? Where does God fit into all of this? What does it mean to be Black? What does it mean to be White? You will eventually find the answers at the Barracuda Night Club .
