The genetically engineered clones that live and work on the surface of Mars have been visited by a being that claims to be God. In a future where religion is banned on Earth a new cult has appeared on the red planet. A cult that seems strangely familiar. The basic tenet of this faith; the Old Earth is passing away, and God wants them to prepare the New Earth for his imminent arrival.

Not long after the religious movement starts Mars begins experiencing work stoppages and even terrorist attacks on the terraforming platforms. The Vendreski Corporation fears that the actions of the cult could threaten the vibrant tourism to the red planet, or even worse, stop the terraforming effort all together.

In order to unravel the mystery of this strange movement they hire the Earth’s only remaining expert on ancient religions, an anthropology professor named Steven Herold.

From the gritty, overcrowded mega-cities of Earth to the environmentally controlled underground habitats of Mars, Steven Herold has to discover the truth behind the cult while staying one step ahead of the conspiracy that threatens all life on both planets.
