It was a memorable year for Scotland and we kept ourselves busier than Gordon Ramsay's bleep machine. After a fair bit of arguing we voted on independence, we welcomed the Commonwealth Games to Glasgow with some interesting Team Scotland uniform designs and many of us admired the sublime golfing skills of Europe and the USA as they battled it out at Gleneagles for the Ryder Cup. We also watched another World Cup without a Scotland team, with just a little schadenfreude?to ease our national pain. Meanwhile, we ate, drank, complained about the weather and had a good laugh about it all. And, as usual, your tales of the funniest events appeared in the Herald newspaper's iconic 'Diary' column. Now, the best of them are gathered here, ready to entertain?at a moment's notice and make you cry with laughter.? And there's some right wee stoaters!
