Now it's late at night, at a remote cabin in Maine, standing in a snow-covered yard, wearing no footwear, no coat, no hat, just a thin nightgown, and she's slowly freezing to death, trying to figure out a way to survive...

Brendan DuBois of New Hampshire is the award-winning author of 130 short stories and sixteen novels including his latest, “Deadly Cove,” part of the Lewis Cole mystery series (Pegasus Books).
