The Story of the Discovery of the Ancient Galilee Boat, plus

The Bible Story of Jesus Calming the Storm on the Sea of Galilee

Text by Jim Reimann, Editor of the Updated Editions of

My Utmost for His Highest and Streams in the Desert

Full–color illustrations by Najwan Zoubi

Published and Printed in Israel

For ages 3–9

This beautifully illustrated storybook for children, tells the inspiring story of the discovery of the only ancient boat ever found in the Sea of Galilee. Dating to the time of Jesus Himself, the boat is now on display in a Galilee museum. Discovered in 1986 by two Jewish fishermen, the ancient boat is one of the great archeological finds of the twentieth century.

Jim Reimann, a minister, author, and tour leader who has led more than 25 pilgrimages to Israel, relates the story for children in an engaging rhyming text. He then tells the Bible story of Jesus calming the storm on the Sea of Galilee from a boat much like this ancient one found by these two Jewish fishermen.

Included in the book is a photo of the actual ancient boat on display in Israel, along with another photo representing how the boat may have looked 2,000 years ago. Also included is a note to parents and teachers indicating the Bible passage upon which the Bible story portion of the book is based (Mark 4:35–41). This makes the book more adaptable for families or classes with wide–ranging ages.
