Could it be true that Nazi German gold and diamonds lies hidden in caves on the Skeleton Coast of South West Africa? Malcolm Lungu, the head of The Special Investigations Team on Economy and Trade (S.I.T.E.T) seems to think so. In agreement with various parties fighting for independence of that country from the grip of apartheid South Africa, he assigns his operative Vince Kunda to seek out the loot. The massive wealth is just the right trigger that is needed to kick start the recovery of the Zambian economy, which has been in dire straits since the start of the wars of liberation in Rhodesia, Angola and South West Africa.
However, things do not work out as planned, especially when dissidents within the ranks of the main liberation movement, the South West African People’s Organisation (S.W.A.P.O) start dogging Vince at each and every step. Moreover, there is also the ever present danger from South African Bureau of State Security (B.O.S.S) operatives who are out in force trying hard to keep the country within the influence of South Africa.
Other players also enter the picture, one of them being Colonel Mbu Chembele, a veteran of the wars in Zaire. He is an ex Katangese rebel leader from eastern Zaire, a ruthless fortune hunter who would go to any lengths to get what he wants. Vince also has to contend with his ex-wife Rosemary who is now am intelligence operative. Her request that he be her case officer during her first covert mission abroad catches him by surprise.
Vince finds himself fighting battles on more than one front. The mission is blown even before he walks into the operational area. In order to stay alive, he finds himself improvising at each and every step of the way.
