In an attempt to salvage his desperate financial situation, Hertfordshire-based husband, father and entrepreneur Bill Smith goes into business with wealthy New York-based businessman Gerry Kiplock. He lives to regret it when Kiplock realises Bill has a mind of his own and decides to show him who is boss. He bulldozes Bill aside and monopolises the business to his own advantage.
Finding himself in a corner with no apparent way out, Bill gets hopelessly drunk and tells his stunningly-beautiful wife Angela that he doesn't know which way to turn. Angela realises that unless she does something about it everything they have worked for will be lost, and she sets a trap for Kiplock in the way only a beautiful woman can.
Cleverly written and leaving the reader realising that nothing was what it seemed, this is an excellent and thought-provoking read.
