Outside The Mountains lies an isolated community regarded as The City, where principles of safety and security reign in order to preserve a social system based on justice and equality. The humans built these pillars within this environment to segregate themselves from the animal breeds, who have taken a different approach to worshipping The Land. Whereas the humans believe in utilizing its resources for the advancement of science and technology, the animals believe in its preservation for a more free, organic, and simplistic way of living. Kid, a naive but curious half-breed, was born amidst the crossfire of these cultures and raised by his protective human mother within The City confines. But when he discovers a family he never knew occupying the forbidden side of town and The Mountains, his yearnings for an identity propel him on a turbulent quest for knowledge. Along the journey, Kid is forced to overcome his naivety and develop his intellect in order to discover the true significance of his soul.
