The Man,
William Hawke is a man of the sea, a privateer. Spurned by love and rejected by the Nobility into which he was born he takes to the waters of the Caribbean to find adventure and fortune.
The Legend,
An angel descended from heaven to bless the island of Jamaica and William Hawke with her love and devotion. She healed the sick, fed the poor, freed slaves, cared for the motherless and loved one and all. She married William and bore his children before she disappeared never to be heard from again.
Thus the Legend of Angelhawke was borne. Was Angelhawke a victim of the 1692 earthquake that destroyed Port Royal or did she abandon her family in their time of greatest peril?
The Lady,
Abigail Gordon is an accomplished historian, museum curator and successful business woman. She is also recently divorced from a cheating husband. So when she moves to Key West to take over the position of curator at the Key West Navel Museum she is surprised to find herself drawn to a larger than life portrait of a Privateer that lived nearly 300 years ago. Abigail thinks she is going insane when she starts to constantly dream about her and this man together. She becomes obsessed with his history and the Legend of Angelhawke.
Who was this woman and how could she just leave her family behind? She knew that she could never do that to William even if her love for him and the man himself were merely an illusion. Finding herself in a dream once again she is stunned and amazed when day after day she doesn't wake up.
How did she get to 1600's Jamaica and where is William? Is this all a dream or is this her new reality?
