When thousands of strange lights suddenly and inexplicably appear over major cities worldwide – surprising an unsuspecting public – the world is rapidly plunged into chaos. Mark, a young professor who has recently made a major breakthrough in clean and renewable energy, is on his way to the Whitehouse and is stuck in peak hour traffic with his two young children when the first lights begin to drift down, without warning and seemingly out of nowhere. Instinctively realizing that something is wrong, he grabs the kids and attempts to get them to safety.
Meanwhile, the situation across the world quickly deteriorates as word spreads like wildfire that the Rapture had arrived. World governments attempt to take military action when one-by-one the lights make landfall and begin to grow with impunity. Unbeknownst to Mark, the arrival of the lights is connected to his recent discovery as well as events that unfolded on the other side of the galaxy. However, his instinct was right, for not only do the lights pose a threat to the lives of his own family and to the lives of billions more; they represent an almost unstoppable threat the likes of which the world, and the universe, has never seen before.

Reviews:

"Too Creepy. At first I thought this book was one of those regular sci-fi adventure kind of stories. I was wrong it turned into a frightening story. Where a monster who uses religion to trick people and consume them. Scary."
-- Amazon Reader, 5 stars

"This reminded me of old-school sci-fi of the fifties and sixties. It seems the author was probably inspired by Harry Harrison, James Blish, Asimov and other writers of the same era. If you're feeling nostalgic, this is a great book to get you back into the sci-fi you fell in love with. I'm quite interested to see if there's more coming."
-- Bronwen, 4 stars

"Well call me a hog and bitcher me for bacon. This old time sci-fi story has a western feel with old time techniques. Somebody give this guy a laptop with a thesaurus quick so he can write another promptly. All my best to your future endeavors as this was a winner."
-- Murf, 5 stars

"Must read… highly recommended…"
-- Urban Reviews, 5 stars (Amazon reader)

"Wow! great sci-fi… great antagonist.. . definitely not same ol'."
-- Amazon reader, 4 stars

"Very good reading. A new twist on the apocalypse of earth, I highly recommend reading it."
