Benjamin Ruggiero was well known in La Cosa Nostra as “Lefty Two Guns”, “Lefty Guns” and “Lefty.” He was given the nickname, Lefty, because when he shot dice, he always roll them with his left hand. The nickname, Two Guns, came from the observation that whenever he shot someone, he always did it with one gun in each hand.

Lefty was a La Cosa Nostra mobster who refused to turn into a federal witness rat, even to save his own life. “Lefty Two Guns” Ruggiero was a Bonanno crime family soldier, who is well known as the friend and mentor of undercover FBI agent Joseph "Donnie Brasco" Pistone who infiltrated The Family during his undercover operation. The hit movie “Donnie Brasco” was based on this agent's interactions with Lefty. The role of Lefty was played by Al Pacino.

Ruggiero and his first wife, who never took his name, had three daughters, and a son she named Thomas Sbano. Tommy died of what police believed to be a Mafia related gunshot execution in 1984. Left was born in Manhattan in 1926. There's no doubt that during this era, being a Mafia soldier was every street kid's dream.

Now, he's gone, and his granddaugther, Ramona Rizzo, is one of the stars of VH1 Mob Wives. The show is comprised of the mob wives, mob daughters, a mob niece and this mob granddaughter of Mafia gangsters.

This is the biography of Lefty Ruggiero AKA Lefty Two Guns. Get to know him, as a person, not just the soldier who was fooled by Donnie Brasco. Find out about his background, his beginnings as a street thug, introduction to La Cosa Nostra and rise in the Bonanno Crime Family. This is the story of one of the men behind "Mob Wives"... Benjamin “Lefty Guns” Ruggiero, the grandfather of Ramona Rizzo.
