The position of the Christian community on homosexuals and lesbians has been generally viewed as intransigent and incompatible with biblical teachings of love and compassion. This perception is faulted to a point. Individuals may wrongly harbor personal feelings of loathing for others, but biblical love and compassion are not incompatible with absolute scriptural doctrines and teachings. The truths of science and physics or the laws of nature or logic are never in dispute; there is no incoherence in them.

Similarly, the absolute teachings of the Bible are indisputable, but more importantly, love, compassion, and mercy are a central driving force to the absolute truths of scripture. The love of Jesus Christ is no less powerful for homosexuals, lesbians, or transgender individuals than it is for anyone else. In order for us to find salvation and experience the transformative power of God upon our lives, we must depend on the absolute teaching of Christ when he said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.”

It is through this truth that the LGBTQ community will find meaning, purpose, and transformation, and it is because of this truth that Christians must endeavor to extend a loving and compassionate hand to LGBTQ people so that Christ may be praised and glorified. This is the message of this book. The legislation of laws will not change the hearts and lives of people, only Christ can enter there.
