Roger Touhy was a Prohibtion era gangster, a rival of Al Capone in Chicago. It was said that Scarface feared Touhy more than any of his enemies. In 1934 Touhy was sentenced to a long term for the kidnapping of a Polish/Russian thug named Jake Factor. His sentenced was reversed on one occasion before being overturned by another judge. Perhaps Touhy was trying to make a return to the rackets business when he was shot dead on a Chicago street in 1959. The stipulations of his parole designated that he return each evening to his sister's home. He was within a few feet of reaching it when he was violently murdered.
