In a world where animals have been raised to self-awareness and live, work and pay taxes right beside humans, Jack finds himself growing more dissatisfied each day. With growing detachment he finds that common sense is dead, replaced with blind allegiance, willful ignorance and an all-consuming desire to shut down discussions to make sure no one is offended.

Jack finds himself trying to cope in a world where voicing an opinion, other than the one the government and media tell you to have, is dangerous. He remembers when wanting to live your life as you saw fit was a mark of self-sufficiency rather than an affront to a society that would rather have the government tell them what to think and how to act.

When Jack starts to question and  push against the tide of current opinion, the eyes of the government and his friends all turn towards him, threatening to destroy everything he has earned and made of his life all because he refuses to be muzzled and keep his mouth shut against the idiocy that has become American politics and popular culture.
