Twins CHRIS and TINA are visiting their great-grandparents in Manchester while their Mum is having a baby. GRAMPS discovers nanodot.com where a webmaster called MORDANT WITT lets them download weird plastic dots containing microscopic robots (nanobots) that will clean the house and even make grumpy Gran look young again. Unfortunately these effects do not last.

Tina buys a makeover doll called Maxine from the nanodot mall, and they are given a peculiar furry pet, but both of these run amok. Chris starts to play an online game about a pharaoh's lost amulet, but after he sees the magic charm in a museum, he is accused of stealing it. The twins soon realise that the nanodot website means big trouble.

Eventually Mordant Witt reveals that the website is being run by aliens who want to upgrade planet earth. But since all their experimental creatures have gone out of control, is this such a good idea?

Fantasy tale for children 9-12 years.
