My name is Jack Tarrant; the main body of this story is based during a period in my life between July 8th 1997 and April 2006. I am a born and bred Geordie (a native of Newcastle) who, as the oldest son of a miner, has managed to drag himself up from humble beginnings. And yet despite this, things have begun to fall apart. On July 8, 1997, I was found guilty of "Road Rage" and sentenced to six months in HMP Durham. This is my story. Our lives are made up of the decisions we make. Some work out fine and some don't; when they don't work out you have to be big enough to make a change otherwise you can spiral away in the depths of despair. Despite what happened to me I have always remained confident that I could turn things around and yet even this confidence can be snatched away from you by events outside of your control as I was about to find out.
