Dale stood outside the entranceway to the Chicago VA hospital thinking about the handicap vets that had come through here for treatment. He thought about how many soldiers had successfully recovered from their war injuries, both physical and mental, and had moved on with their lives. Then there were the failures; wounds so deep that they would never return to a normal life. That saddened Dale greatly.

Dale was a certified therapist that worked with handicap vets trying to recuperate from the perils of war. He worked tirelessly to help them to learn to live with their handicap. His job description was to promote the health, independence, and quality of life for disabled vets by following a four-step process; assessment, planning, intervention activity implementation and evaluation. That was the textbook description of what he was supposed to do. However, for Dale, it was more than that. He had a personal connection with each and every soldier that came through here. He had been there, done that! He went through this with his brother Sammy! Now he faces a more difficult case with Jeff. Would he succeed?
