Amidst escalating regional tensions, a raid by North Korean Commandos against a South Korean military island base to steal sophisticated state-of-the-art missile defence and radar equipment has unintended and widespread consequences which ultimately lead the World to the brink of nuclear war.

A small group of American veterans, embittered by their experiences in Iraq and Afghanistan decide to exact revenge against Muslim immigrants in the United States. Led by Sergeant Jake Hanna and aided by a self-centred journalist they embark on a brutal and indiscriminate bombing campaign designed to create division and hatred with the ultimate aim to push the United States and the Muslim World to the brink of war. Along the way they end up actually collaborating with elements they would consider as their enemies in order to further their mutual agenda.

Colonel Zurvan Mehregan, an ambitious and greedy Iranian Intelligence Agent hatches an audacious plan to detonate bombs in the Holy City of Mecca whilst implicating America in the attack, designed to unite the Muslim World under Iranian leadership against the United States and Israel. His real motivation however is quite simply personal gain as he plans to escape from the conflict of his own making and become very rich in the process.

David Stoner, an MI6 Intelligence Chief and Falklands War veteran with extensive Anti-Terrorism experience is requested by the Saudi authorities to help them unravel what really happened in Mecca before the situation spirals out of control with potentially dire consequences. With the clock ticking, can David piece together a very complex jigsaw of often conflicting evidence against a backdrop of misdirection and ever-increasing pressure?

These disparate themes are pulled together in The Persian Maskirovka, a strong and original fast-paced and thought-provoking fictional novel that tackles some of the greatest challenges facing the World today with scenarios that are all too plausible. Embedded with strong and believable characters this novel explores some of the root causes and expression of modern terrorism whilst ultimately concluding that such actions are almost always counter-productive and doomed to failure.
