A literary work is usually a personal expression, which represents the whole person behind it. In fact, it is a record of aspirations, joys, sorrows and the most intimate feelings, which are the natural outcome of his/her struggles and disappointments. In the present book, an attempt has been be made to probe deep into the experiences of these two poets with a view to spotlighting the candid confrontation of their self. It is said that a poem is an aesthetic projection of psychological motives behind it. Viewed in this perspective, the present study aims at discovering the roots of the poets personality, both as an individual and as an artist. It also considers certain other aspects of the confessional poetry of Sylvia Plath and Kamala Das, such as language, form, style, symbol, imagery, analogy, allusions, and so on.
