In September 1998, Julian Everet is walking on the cliffs of Dover when a discarded newspaper brushes his leg. The face on the front page is that of Kathleen Mccullagh and it sparks off memories of 1968, of love, obsession and jealousy. Initially, Julian is stunned by a wave of guilt but before he can grab the paper, it blows away in the wind. He plays with the idea of running away but curiosity drives him to find out why his first love is in the news again after 30 years. This curiosity confronts him with the realisation that although he thought he had moved on, the past was pulling him back and it was a place he no longer wished to visit.
