This is an important book to read.  A must read before WWIII which is coming soon.  The basic information in the novel was from my 2nd semester term paper for air war college.  However, it was rejected “we will never have a military confrontation in the Middle East”.  I had spent weeks of research and writing.  I spent about two days saying that Russia is the enemy and it was passed and I graduated.  I then wrote the novel.  Only a few copies went out.  My sister wrote part of a war game that had Swartzkof and Powell as participants.  That part of the game consisted of Iraq attacking Kuwait and our response.  The war game was completed in June just prior to Iraq actually doing it.  The generals originally planned on a 2 week buildup using C-130s to transport M1 tanks from Europe to Saudi Arabia.  My sister consulted me and then arranged a demo for the generals where they drove an M-1 up behind a C-130 to show it would not fit.  In addition, the C-130 won’t lift the weight.  As a result, in Gulf War One, the generals used ships to transport tanks and the C-17 aircraft was approved after having been cancelled as unnecessary.  The C-17 will carry 1 tank.  The C-5 will carry two.

I should have republished the book before 9/11 or at least right after, but I was busy.  With the Arab Spring I did a little rewriting to eliminate things that were now past tense and just now got it published.  I would hope the book gets readership and if I make a little money that would be nice.

One of the chapters in AWC was “The Chaos Factor”.  It is the reason I always argued to keep EMP protection on military systems making a bore of myself.  It is central to the novel.  In the 1960’s we used a nuclear warhead on an anti-ballistic missile to shoot down a Minute Man.  It worked just fine but in Hawaii, 800 miles away, burglar alarms went off, street lights came on during the day and burnt out, traffic lights quit working, cars stalled and would not restart for 30 minutes, etc.  It was EMP from a small nuclear warhead exploding 200 miles above the earth.  That was before transistors.  Tube type radios are 1 billion times more resistant that transistors, cars now have electronic ignition and fuel injection, but back then no…but they still stalled.  Now they would never restart because they would have no transistors.   this tells of a solar flare that if it happened today would be disaster to our electronic world.

In the book from the 1980’s it proposes RPVs using GPS and remote pilots even more advanced than Global Hawk and the Predator… we are getting there.  I really think this whole book could start tomorrow.

With the Arab Spring and the Islamic Brotherhood taking over Middle Eastern governments, the time is ripe for a unification of the Middle East to become a very real threat to world peace and therefore time to get my book republished.  It needs to be read and the word spread while there is still time to prepare.
