Hans Christian Andersen was a famous Danish writer of fairy tales. "The Princess and the Pea" is a fairy tale about a princess. A prince was going to marry a princess. He visited different countries to find his bride. There were many princesses, but they were not real ones. That's why he was sad. One day it was pouring with rain. Somebody knocked at the city gate. In front of the gate stand a princess. She looked not gorgeous. The water ran down from her clothes. Nevertheless she said that she was a nobel princess. The old queen wanted to find it out. She went into the bed-room and laid a pea on the bed; then she took many mattresses to lay them on the pea. The princess lay on the bed all night. In the morning one asked her, how she had slept.
