Since the revelation of the removal of restraint was
given in late 2012, there has been an acceleration of the
evidence of the loss of restraint. Obvious examples such
as powerful government agencies invidiously discriminating against select individuals and groups operating
within their protected rights, the recent Supreme Court
of the United States’ decision to officially ratify homosexuality as a nationally accepted form of family life
and the revelation of cyber espionage by governments
against citizens have been revealed with a numbing
monotony. It is as if a kind of opiate has dulled the
collective awareness to the point of unresponsiveness.
Only public figures in politics and mass media are
acting as if they are concerned. However, because the
same ones have either practiced similar behaviors or
have become such blatant opportunist, their reactions
are seen as the expressions of feigned outrage devoid
of sincere conviction and cynically calculated to benefit
their careers.
