The Empire is disintegrating. There has been no communication with Parison from Rombuli for over three years. People report seeing strange creatures flying over the land. Sending troops or some of the Covenent to investigate proves futile. As soon as they cross the border, nothing is heard from them. They disappear without trace.In the face of this threat, the plan is to hold onto Rombuli while a way is found of to ascertain what is happening. Edward Eastland is given the task of finding the Walloonian Army at a place called Bryants Ridge so that he can recruit some of the Covenent. With his friends Tag and Boris, he sets out leaving his new wife Kitty behind. They are cut off from Rombuli and have to find a different way back.
