The Rider e-Book of Lists: iPad & e-Reader Edition is the first ever ‘e-book’ on the Saskatchewan Roughriders Canadian Football League (CFL) team.
This e-book expands on The Rider Book of Lists published in print form in 2010 by the same authors: Sheldon Green and Rod Nasewich. It provides a different and sometimes off-beat look at Rider players and coaches and at the Riders as a team, organization, a pop culture phenomenon and a ‘Nation’. It has new and updated content for the 2013 season that cannot simply be found in any other publication on the Saskatchewan Roughriders. It is digital information for the Rider Nation!
For example, did you know that a Rider began his long career in the movie business as a stunt double in the epic movie Spartacus, or that it was the Riders who registered the West’s first touchdown and the first forward pass in a Grey Cup? Did you know Geroy Simon’s CFL record for all time receiving yards is one of 40 CFL Player records held by Rider players. Did you know George Reed and Ron Lancaster still hold 15 records between them? Did you know the Riders were the visiting team of record for the largest regular season crowds in Edmonton and Winnipeg or that they played in the most-watched CFL playoff and Grey Cup games? Did you know the Roughriders are featured on episodes of TV's Columbo, The Sopranos, The Simpsons and South Park, and in a John Grisham book?
The e-book’s 100 lists cover statistics, topics and trivia on the Riders that will appeal to all generations of Rider fans, the casual fan and the statistical enthusiast. Lists include: Great Rider Nicknames, 100 Halls of Fame with Rider inductees, top Rider quarterbacks, running backs and receivers, Labour Day Classic stats, Riders in politics and Riders who became sportscasters, Saskatchewan-born Riders, Riders on the Big and Little Screens, Stadiums in which the Roughriders will never play again, Rider Grey Cup Firsts and Lasts, Rider Dubious Distinctions and Things You May Not Know about Gainer the Gopher.
The e-book also features a fun diversion called Six Degrees of Rider Nation, modeled after the 'six degrees of separation' concept and makes the connection between the Riders and famous people including Kevin Bacon, Oprah, Ashton Kutcher, Donald Trump, JFK and Elvis.
So, lose yourself in 100 lists that profile the team, its players and fans . . . You’ll be surprised what you never knew about Canada’s favourite football team.
