In this true and inspiring short story the reader will be challenged to “dare to believe.”  The account centers on a mysterious, yet enchanting secluded cave nestled in south central Kentucky’s cave country.  A large and beautifully stunning cavern; so pleasing to the eye but strangely sheltered; hidden away from unrestricted view.

Even now, amidst the bustle of Kentucky cave tourism; this vast and ornate cavern has escaped any ravages of commercialism and remains a place where time in fact, does seem to have stood still.  No doubt, this has been significant in maintaining the captivating mystery which surrounds this secret cave.

Here begs the question, why has this cavern been spared the indignities and garish realities of cave exploitation and commercialization for profit?  Is it plausible that this enigmatic shrouded grotto has since the dawning age of antiquity, been predestined for a higher purpose?   Is there to be revealed a Divine design, orchestrated by the hand of providence, which transcends the ages?

In this remarkable story, this once reclusive cavern would for purposes known only to its Creator, begin to divulge its long guarded secrets from within.  Through modern day discovery and enlightenment, a slowly emerging legacy would unravel the historic relationship between the grotto and the areas earliest human inhabitants.  It was here man and God through nature would bond, traversing the centuries together in a mutually compatible fellowship.

The cave’s secrets begin to be shared with the outside world as a faint whisper; much like the gentle breeze which greeted the emerging leaves on the surrounding towering walnut and oak trees; that perfect spring southern Kentucky morning in 1988.  This was the day the very first cave survey and mapping began.   At the request of and through the efforts of a local hobbyist grotto group, the long unknown and uncharted mysteries found within the cavern, would soon be authenticated.  With this process, the cave was officially designated to be a Native American Sacred Site Cave.  This rare distinction would change everything.

No one could have predicted or even imagined the magnitude of the exciting chain of events, and the far reaching humanitarian outcomes revealed through the secrets, so long guarded within this cave.  I am a witness; God unlocks secrets for the good of humankind.  Dare to believe!
