Mankind is no longer at the top of the food chain.
The Sixth Extinction Series is an apocalyptic tale about a pandemic that sweeps the globe, decimating the human race, leaving humanity struggling to survive. Within three weeks, everything has changed. Social structure has collapsed. The police are non-existent, and the army concentrates on the cities. Gangs of yobs rule the streets.
Travis Wade Franklin, or better known as Coco, works for the British army as an Intelligence Linguist in a clandestine unit in an undisclosed military base called The Ark, situated deep below Dartmoor Prison, in Princetown, Dartmoor, England. The secret base has been working with a skeleton crew for over thirty years, preparing for an outbreak of biblical proportions.
Ancient civilizations found six mysterious pods, each capable of eradication the human race. The worst part is, the stories tell of seven pods – one is still out there, undiscovered. Nine loggers in Madagascar stumble on the seventh pod and the lethal spores are released.
As the deadly outbreak starts to ravish the world, the secret bunker becomes a hive of activity as more personnel are drafted in, trying to get all the supplies and Adam and Eve finalists below ground before the order to seal the massive bunker is issued.
Coco is worried due to the fact the person he cares about more than anyone else in the world – who he has just got a ring for, and he was about to pour out his heart to – is missing in Mexico, and no one can find her. Her father, the General in command of The Ark, sends Coco on a mission to London. However, he wasn't told the whole truth and when he discovers what he has done – and whose blood is on his hands – he starts to fall apart, as he questions whether or not he is worthy of receiving someone else's love.
The military is all that stands between Mother Nature and the future of the human race. We get the first look at activity inside the base on the day of the outbreak.
