The Sorrow of Lust chronicles the life of a son born to a Roma Gypsy woman who is ravished by a vampire. The story begins in the year of eighteen hundred and fifty-six when our hero, Gunari Noctis Stronitekya, is born in the foothills of the Austrian Alps. We follow his travels as a child in the Gypsy camp to an abandoned son when his mother dies from a Gypsy curse, and later when he becomes a renowned sculptor. In his naivete, and his inability to speak English, we are held captive by the universality of his longing for love and acceptance. The reader is fully engrossed in the story when he falls in love with Olivia, the daughter of a wealthy estate owner, and he struggles to become a man worthy enough to ask for her hand in marriage. Sired by a vampire, he anguish's over his primal need for blood, and his sexual proclivities.The story explores his addiction, its consequences, and his inherent need to survive.
