Mad himself, by now, Antonio is possessed by the hundreds of souls he has murdered alongside Miguel.

Sometimes he has been polite, and even emotional, before decisively snuffing out yet another life.

He hopes God will look favorably upon his kind gestures. That is the best he can do. It had long since become obvious that to be in this job it’s always better to shoot first. But there’s no harm in being polite. Soldiers are like this. They often have .. eccentricities.

Antonio’s refuge now is in the hope for a brighter future in the next life, upon a violent meaningless death in this one.

Then peace will come.

He discards these thoughts, crosses himself again with the sign of the Lord Jesus crucified, kisses his thumb, and he continues..

The pendejo, Edward Snowden says he went in there, into the belly of the beast to obtain evidence that the CIA is subverting the power of the government of the United States of America.

Evidence that they are threatening democracy itself.

These are unbelievable challenges, Miguel, against the legitimacy of any government.

And this is not just any government, Antonio gestures dramatically.

This is the government of United States.

Silence fills the space with the weight of the implications.
