Imagine the intensity of a suspense thriller combined with elements of the science fiction and horror genre packed into a short story that will keep you guessing up until the last page.
If you could meet yourself fifteen years in the past what would you say?
Stephen Jenkins knows the answer. He has just met an older version of himself - the world’s first time traveler. The consequences of this ten minute meeting will ripple through his life until Stephen is finally able to confront Dr. Tim Lee the machines inventor.
What Stephen doesn’t know is that the future isn’t what he what he was expecting.
From The Suicidal Time Traveler:
…..He began walking across the lawn instinctively feeling for the gun. He knew it was there a .357 revolver he had bought at a flea market from a bald man selling knives and temporary tattoos. The toothless Carney had dug it out of his travel trailer and sold it to him on the spot. No background checks just cash for merchandise. It was now tucked in the waist of his cargo shorts, underneath a worn out AC/DC t-shirt.
“Mind if I join you.”
Lee looked up. Squinting into the sun, he smiled, opened his hand as a gesture of acceptance and pointed to a space on the far side of the bench.
“You are Dr. Tim Lee aren’t you?”
Lee put his book down beside him and turned to the stranger. He hadn’t really looked at him the first time. He was a young guy, younger than him, in his early twenties. He was on the short side maybe five nine, a little husky, with a black goatee, rimless glasses, and puffy features. He looked a little spooked. An undergrad with questions about geometry he guessed.
“Yes, I am” he answered waiting for the inventible.
“Dr. Lee you ruined my life.”
