After surviving a genetic virus the species of Earth are having to learn how to get along. Humans now have to live and work with mythological creatures and supernatural monsters, and the struggle for dominance is a constant threat. While being normal has never been a trait coveted by the residents of Key West, being able to live life casually has always had value. Formed between the crosswinds of the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico, Key West has a history of catering to misfits and rebels of society, but what marine salvor Tavyauna Marten has brought in to town from the depths of the deep sea may be too hot for even this feisty little town to handle.
After finishing up another salvage job, Tavyauna finds her sister in a coma. While trying to get answers she gets more involved with the story behind the mysterious box that she brought up from the ocean floor. Along with her best friend, a leprechaun, and an ancient and powerful species, she must thwart the plans of a local vampire who wants to infect all humans and control the world.
