When Al Dente and Kris Blaze first arrived on the central coast of California, they were fresh off a year-long sabbatical in the desert after spending the previous infinity of years immersed in the L.A. underground arts scene. To go from a world occupied by transvestite hookers and striving blond famewhores and such, then to the deep desert all full of coyotes and cucharachas, and finally to the sleepy little coast with its retiree hobby-artists and miles of pastoral plein-air paintings-- let's just say it was a bit of a culture shock. So, we tried to shock the culture right back. Luckily we met fellow artsy troublemakers ArtTown Annie, Biff Beardsley, and Dave Justice. From there, it was ON. This is a compilation of 3 stories, the first two of which were originally published in Hailey Cain's SWAP! zine, and the 3rd of which was written for said zine, but it never came out 'cause she stopped doing the zine when she got hired at the New Times newspaper...
