My dearest Saffe,
I have struggled deeply about whether to write you this letter. I have struggled even more about what I should tell you. I want you to have something to remember me by since I know you are too young to remember the precious little time we had together. I also want you to live your life and dream of your future without the knowledge of the terrible burden that we bear. Please do not hate me for not telling you the truth sooner, I only wanted you to live your life as if you were a normal little girl.
Unfortunately, my sweet, sweet child, you are not normal. You are extraordinary and with that comes a terrible price. I hope your new parents love you half as much as your father and I did because then you will truly be blessed. Your father never got the chance to know you but he loved you a lifetimes worth before you were ever born. I know they will read you fairy tales with princesses and magic. Know that not all fairy tales are myths. Some are true. Some left the most important parts out...
