Sir Richard Francis Burton (19 March 1821 – 20 October 1890) was an British explorer, poet, writer, translator, linguist, ethnography, hypnotist, fencer and diplomat. He was famous for his research in Asia and Africa, as well as its exceptional knowledge of languages and different cultures. Burton was a captain in the army of the East India Company, serving in India (and later, briefly, in the Crimean War). In life, Burton was a very controversial figure. Although many considered him a hero, others saw him as an unprincipled adventurer. One of the most famous of his books is the translation of the Book of the Thousand and One Nights in 10 volumes (1885).
"The Vampire's Eighth Story. Of the Use and Misuse of Magic Pills." is a beautiful short story by Sir Richard Francis Burton. This book describes the history of the lady Chandraprabha, daughter of the Raja Subichar. She loved to walk in the garden near his home. But once, handsome young men wandered in this garden.
