Tibetian fairy-tales reflected thew wisdom of the Tibetian people and belongs to the heritage of one of the oldest cultures. Many of these tales have a sacred core as they tell us of the creation of the world, the origin of various natural forces, of the afterlife as Tibetians see it according to their Buddhist-driven beliefs.
The narrative of The Wise Bat follows a king, who lived in times when men and animals could talk to each other. Everything was well in his realm, only king’s wife was unhappy. And to make her happy again, the King had agreed to do a violent thing. He knew it was wrong, but now he was bounded by his promise.
