I recall my youth on a farm in North Livermore Falls, Maine, being taken from my family at age 15, and an inspiring summary of my life that followed. Soon after moving to Waltham, MA as a young man, I was sentenced to a "reform" school in Chelmsford, MA. I can still vividly recall the names, places and events like it was yesterday. This "training" school no longer exists, so my book is a matter of record at this time. The Chelmsford, MA library welcomed my book to add to their minimal history of this long forgotten school. The book covers a long and happy life that I profoundly owe much of to those long 6 months spent in the Middlesex County Training School. I married my wife, Lillian at age 19 years in 1947 and went on to raise 10 wonderful children, each of which is a credit to their own family and community, giving us many grandchildren and several great grandchildren. I was self-employed my entire life and owned my own homes. I owe a debt of gratitude for my experiences with truancy and the people in my life.
