‘Truth’ is a Sci-Fi / Cli-Fi (climate fiction) novelette that featured in the 2012 end-of-year Cli-Fi review post at Judith Curry’s blog ‘Climate Etc.’ (Judith was at the time Professor and Chair of the School of Earth and Atmospheric Sciences at the Georgia Institute of Technology; she has now left academia but still runs the blog). The latter review was shared with Michael Crichton’s ‘State of Fear’, Rex Fleming’s first novel ‘Exposure’, Ian McEwan’s ‘Solar’, Barbara Kingsolver’s ‘Fight Behaviour’ and Clive Cussler’s ‘Arctic Drift’, plus several other novels and one other novelette. Blending front-line action soldiering, the relationship of a captain and his partner, environmental and climate material, the controversial tale of ‘Truth’ is above all a revelation on negative social memeplexes, primarily the memeplex that is the social phenomena of CAGW (catastrophic anthropogenic global warming), which feeds on emotion and is completely at odds with mainstream science (per the IPCC).
